Class Consequences

My classroom runs on a mini-economy in order that the students get a feel for how economics works in the real world.  Students will earn a weekly allowance that will be used for a variety of things, such as paying rent on their desk, paying fines, etc..  They have opportunities to make more money by participating in band, traffic patrol, and earning good grades on tests.  On the opposite end of the spectrum, if they are tardy, have a missing assignment, or get their name on the board, they lose money.

Once in a while the class will have auctions where students can buy and sell items they bring.  Additionally, I will auction off school items, such as packs of pencils or pens, note books, mouse pads, etc.
